Apple I ate 5 of these, and lets just say I'm very surprised the doctor recommended it.

Default iphone 3.0

So Apple have called a press gathering on the 17th March to preview/annouce iPhone software 3.0

What do you think they'll announce? If they're jumping from 2.2 to 3.0 that would suggest there is something big in the pipeline - are we finally going to see full turn by turn sat nav?

integrated MMS support? Copy and paste? The ability to search emails? Push Notifications for 3rd Party apps?

What do you want to see on there?

I'm guessing that even if they preview iphone 3.0, its not going to launch until June, when Mac OS X 10.6 Snow leopard is due to be announced.

Well, announcement over and I'm quite impressed by it!

Copy and Paste, MMS, Voice notes, Email Search & phone search, you will be able to forward texts, send contact details, push notification for apps..

and SAT NAV is now possible too! wooo!

Oh and surprisingly - they've announced stereo bluetooth for it too, so now you can listen to your music in stereo with no wires! About time Apple!!

Excellent news! Got my iPhone two weeks ago and due to the lack of message forwarding I was considering selling it! Guess I'll just have to be patient for a couple of months.

yes and no.. you won't be able to send music and photos from the iphone to another phone from what i understand. there is a peer to peer system being introduced that will allow data to be passed from one iphone to another, with out the need for pairing, but both iphones will need the app to do it - it won't be something installed into the phone as standard.

with the changes to the SDK though, i think we're going to start seeing a lot of more useful apps appear rather than just a load of same old same old we're getting at the minute.

I'm keen to see what the rest of the "100 new features" are.. cos that seems like a lot... One of our review partners is getting the 3.0 beta installed on his phone so I'm going to get him to write it up for me shortly..
