Bluetooth I do wonder why it's blue, can't it be red - because then it would match my shirt.

Default Unable to pair Nokia 5800MX with Supertooth Voice bluetooth car kit

I wonder if anyone can help me - I have a Supertooth Voice visor BT kit. It paired and worked fine with my previous phone which was the Samsung Tocco Lite. However I have just got a Nokia 5800 MusicXpress and it will not pair with it. The phone finds the Supertooth Voice Ok but when I enter the default 0000 code the phone just says 'Unable to pair with Supertooth Voice' - but does not give a reason.

I am at the moment running the Supertooth Voice's battery down to start again but the this is taking ages (good battery life!)

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Graham

Hi Graham,

Have you checked to make sure that the supertooth is in pairing mode?

To do this, turn it off, then press the power button for around 15 seconds, it'll probably beep a couple of times and the lights on it should either stay on constantly or alternate between two colours.

When it's in pairing mode, your phone should be able to pair and connect to it.

Excellent, glad it's working.

when you first buy the handsfree, it goes into pairing mode automatically the first time you turn it on, so you don't need to do it manually.

Causes people a headache every time they change their phone

Any more problems with it give me a shout.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the info - much appreciated. Just one thing - should I be able to use voice dialling with the Supertooth Voice and my Nokia 5800XM?

Thanks again.

Graham

It depends on the model of the supertooth you have:

Supertooth Visor Voice Bluetooth Car Kit = yes

Supertooth Visor One Bluetooth Car Kit = yes

VisorLite Bluetooth Car Kit = no

With the first two, you normally need to press the answer key for a couple of seconds to activate the 'listening' mode.

hope that helps!
