Default lg cookie kp500 headphones

Hi

I got the kp500 cookie phone and thinks it's great. However, the headphones it came with are terrible - look cheap, sound poor etc. I have emailed lg asking if any of their better earphones for other phones are compatible with the kp500 but they just direct me to their online shop which has no accesoires for the kp500. Carphonewarehouse are no better.

Question is do you know anywhere that sells good stereo headphones for the kp500 or good headphones for another lg phone that has same connector as kp500?

many thanks

Hi,

Getting replacement headphones shouldnt be a problem as all LG phones have the same connector.

It might be worth looking at the HSS-100 or the Music Remote.

Both of these will let you connect your own headphones to them (you can use what ever you find the most comfortable then) and as they're both Genuine products they will both work as the antenna for the radio.

many thanks for the reply. so basically i could buy the LG HSS-H100 Stereo Headset, plug the end into phone, connect my own (walkman) headphones into the LG HSS-H100 and not use the headphones it comes with and i'll still pick up the radio ok? Sorry to be a pain but just checking - credit crunch and all - cheers

don't worry about asking questions! thats what the forum is for! But yes, you can just use your existing walkman headphones with the HSS-100 and the radio should still be fine.

When I get a spare few minutes this afternoon I'll grab a set and try it out to confirm it.

Ok, Got my hands on one and am trying it now. To get connected I had to manually do it, my pc didn't see the phone on its own.

If you launch the LG PC Suite II it should then prompt you to get connected and find your phone after a few seconds. Once thats done, you should get the landing page that gives you the options, Sync, Games, Music Etc,

When I clicked on music, it launched the app, then threw up the not connected message. Reason being the phone is in the wrong mode.. Most phones will prompt you which mode you want to connect in, but the cookie doesn't by default.

You'll need to disconnect the USB cable from the phone and then go to

Settings > Connectivity > USB Connection > Music Sync (or always ask, in case you sometimes will want to sync or use storage)

It will confirm its been saved, and then you can plug the cable back in.

Your PC will probably say that there is new hardware detected, just leave it for a minute or two to finish doing its thing and then you should be good to go. Your phone should display "Music Sync Connected" with a cancel button at the bottom of the screen.

If you launch the music app again now from the PC Suite, your phone should be connected and you'll be able to transfer your music over.

Another way of doing it is to connect in mass storage, and your PC should then just see it as an extra storage drive and you can just drag and drop your mp3's into the relevant folder - having said that, mine didn't have a music folder when I tried this way, but that might be because I've not got any music on the phone yet!

Personally I'd stick with using the PC suite, at least that way you know that the phone will know its got music on it!

Have a play and let me know how you get on.

Andy

thanks for the tips. I followed these steps. But I can not manage the sync stuff. when i click on sync menu on suite, it asks me what data to choose, either from PC to mobile or vice versa. You do not see music there. I transfer my musics to the music menu on suite, but nothing happens and i do not know how to transfer them to mobile. I followed your tips, but failed. any help. thanks

Hi,

Sorry you're having problems, have you checked to make sure that the phone is in music mode?

on the phone itself. the phone needs to be in music mode in order to transfer music to it.

Just to confirm, what handset have you got?

You'll need to disconnect the USB cable from the phone and then go to

Settings > Connectivity > USB Connection > Music Sync (or always ask, in case you sometimes will want to sync or use storage)

It will confirm its been saved, and then you can plug the cable back in.
