Unhappy Lg KU990i and Hotmail

Hi

I have followed every possible combination that I have found on the internet to get my hotmail to work on this phone. I am now able to get into my inbox at hotmail but cannot open the emails. The message 'connection failed' comes up when I click to open an email. I am on 3 network so don't know if that is the problem rather than the phone? I have been fiddling about with it for about 3 hours so am at the end of my tether with it!!!

Any help would be gratefully received!

Laura

I've seen a few people having problems on 3. It appears that they might be blocking it to force people to pay for their "email on 3" service.

Not sure if you've seen it already, but there is a post on our blog that has settings that definitely work on other networks, but i've never tried to use them on 3.

Hi

That is what I originally tried although i put input and output as pop3 as when I tried one of them as smtpit wouldn't even let me log on to hotmal. bit frustrating as this was the main reason I went with 3. Do you think they would be able to unblock it or is it not even worth asking?
Do you know if i have a seven day cooling off period on the contract. Don't want ot carry on with it if it's not going to do what I want! I am nervous now as I didn't really research 3 before i bought the phone. Just went into the shop and looked like a good deal. Have now read some reviews on the internet which are basically saying they are awful and that coverage is no good etc. I don't have a huge amount of money to spare and went onto a monthly tarrif instaed of pay as you go (with o2) as it seemed a good way to budget and get a better phone!

Do you have an opinion on 3?

pop3 is only incoming, so you won't be able to send email if you have the pop settings in the smtp box.
If you call them, you'll probably only get a foreign call centre where they won't know what you're on about, so I'd suggest taking it back to the store and asking them if there is a way to get it working, (if there is you can post the solution on here )

I've never been with three, but i worked for carphone for 8 years and was never tempted to go on to 3. Coverage isn't really an issue any more as they piggy back off orange if they don't have coverage themselves, and orange have the strongest 3g coverage in the UK.

They are a cheap network, but they do stop you from doing simple things like checking your email unless you pay for it.

You normally have 7 days if you order online, and most networks will offer a 7/14 day return if you're not completely happy with the phone, but this might just let you change the phone and not cancel the contract.

You'll need to speak to someone in the 3store where you got it from I think and talk it over with them.
