LG Cookie email set-up with btinternet

Please could someone advise the setup for email on the Cookie to connect to my btinternet

Hi Lisa,

Should be easy enough to get it working - follow these steps and give me a shout if you get stuck:

from the main menu - messaging -> settings -> email -> email accounts -> add acount

you'll be asked for login details - this is your usual btinternet address and your normal password

on the next screen it asks for this again - put in your email address again

the next screen will ask for the email type you need to choose pop3

next it will ask for incoming server details, enter:

mail.btinternet.com

then it will ask for the outgoing server, enter the same info:

mail.btinternet.com

next it will ask for smtp authentication - this needs to be ON

now it will be asking for your smtp username and password, this is your email address and your usual password

next you need to give the account a name

it will then ask you to update the inbox, say yes and it will check for mail and start downloading.

if you get an error message of any kind, let me know!

Thanks Andy but a message has come back and says 'network open failed'
Any ideas?

that sounds like its a connection problem - can you access the internet on your phone?
