Nokia N85 and Route 66

Hey,

I've got the Nokia N85 and considering purchasing the Route 66. However I was told by another retailer that it is not compatible. You guys have it as being compatible so was wondering which it was? Compatible or not? That is the question!

I can confirm that the Route 66 and the Nokia N85 are definitely compatible with each other. Little tweaks that you may have to do are updating the firmware on the Nokia N85 which can be done by following this link and also updating the software on the Route 66, in order to this follow the instructions given here. After this you will find that they will work with each other perfectly.

However, you may want to use the Nokia mapping software that is already pre-installed on the handset. It works just as well as the Route 66 and as Nokia have bought out Navtec, you will also find the mapping software is easy to follow. There is a subscription involved but this is just for the voice direction and not the use of the software. If you do wish to purchase the subscription for the Nokia Maps then you will pay for 12 months in addition to the 3 free months that you get with the handset so 15 months in total.
