I just wanted to check about the software in the Nokia E71's firmware.
I heard on a video review that the E71 comes with the editing version of QuickOffice, is this right? (i.e. you can edit documents without having to buy an upgrade?) Also, the PDF reader - I know on my E51, I had to buy an upgrade to get the "Reflow" text mode. Which version does the E71 firmware have? (i.e. would I have to puchase the upgrade to get Reflow mode?). Thanks for reading.

I have an E71 and can confirm that with quick office you can open, edit, create new and save without having to pay for anything else. I am not 100% sure what you mean with regards to the PDF's but if you mean the PDF is reformatted so that you don't need to scroll left to right, then no that's not standard.

As for the PDF reader, yes that's what I meant. If you were to go to the QuickOffice site and buy the upgrade for the PDF viewer, you'll get a menu option called "Reflow" which will wrap all the text to the screen width, which as you says, saves you from having to scroll left to right. This function is essential for me as this is how I read e-books. Well, at least I'd only have to pay for one upgrade if I get an E71 ![]() Glad to see you've cut the price on it recently too.
