Default Palm Treo Pro problems

Hi all, I have bought a previously owned Treo, to replace a HTC 620. I am on the BT mobile network. Mobile calls are fine and the phone automatically recognised the BT network. I cannot connect to the mobile internet.( WI - Fi is fine) It tries GPRS, 3G, T Mobile. Could the phone be locked to a degree, or is it a set up problem. Thanks for any advice: Frank

it's probably a settings issue - if you're on bt-mobile and its trying to connect to t-mobile thats why its failing.

You'll need to contact BT Mobile and ask them to send the settings through to you

Thanks Andy, I have tried BT mobile on a number of occaisions, spoke to different people ,but the same answer comes back eventually, that they do not support this particular phone. They have the data for the HTC, and an automated service which will supply settings for a list of popular handset manufacturers, such as Sony Ericson, Siemens, Nokia etc. Thanks again: Frank.

ah ok. well, it's not the end of the world. If they have given you the manual settings, it will just be a case of modifying the existing ones on the phone.

I've got no access to one of those handsets, but if you can find network or connection settings on the phone, you should be able to change them without too much difficulty.

This post on our blog should give you all the manual settings that you'll need to enter:
