Hi, you'lll need to get the settings sent to your phone if they're not on there already - either orange or samsung can send them through to you: the links below should take you to the settings page. On the orange site you'll need to look for the Samsung S8300.
Service settings Support - Configure Phone - MMS Settings - Samsung Mobile Tocco ultra is the last in the list on the samsung site. |

no, lol it's not you it's me. I'm giving you iPhone instructions!
ignore that last post or two of mine dunno where my head was! you'll need to edit the pop settings on the o2 account to Incoming Server: POP3 POP3 Server: pop3.live.com POP3 Port: 995 APOP Login: Not checked Secure Connection: SSL but before you change them, write down what's in there now. just make sure you don't change any of the SMTP stuff. sorry for the confusion. |

Andy, you have one satisfied customer, but here's another who isn't yet! Same problem - can't get email to work on the Ultra just received. I've gone through the checklist from the Vodafone help website, but no joy. Also rang technical and got some more advice, but still no joy. I'm on AOL - does that make any difference@

Hi, the only difference it should make is that the server settings need to be aol rather than hotmail an dyou'll use IMAP instead of POP3.
to get it working you should use the following settings: Account Name: AOL SMTP Server: smtp.aol.com SMTP Port: 587 Secure Connection: SSL/TLS Incoming Server: IMAP IMAP Server: imap.aol.com IMAP Port: 993 APOP Login: Not checked Secure Connection: SSL Download Limit:500 My Address: screenname@aol.com Username: screenname Password: mypassword POP Before SMTP: Not ticked Use SMTP Authentication: Ticked Same as POP3 & IMAP4: Ticked If this works for receiving but not sending you might need to use the vodafone SMTP server - in which case use the settings below: Account Name: AOL SMTP Server: send.vodafone.net Secure Connection: None Incoming Server: IMAP IMAP Server: imap.aol.com IMAP Port: 993 APOP Login: Not checked Secure Connection: SSL Download Limit:500 My Address: screenname@aol.com Username: screenname Password: mypassword POP Before SMTP: Not ticked Use SMTP Authentication: Not Ticked Let me know how you get on |

Andy,
I've deleted all the previous entries for emaol accounts and inputted what you recommended, but still no luck either sending or receiving. I tried sending but got a message saying "aol - no response", and an email sent to the phone is not showing as received. ![]() Any further ideas? |

it might be worth checking with AOL to see if you can configure your phone to access their servers. I know from experience that AOL email is one of the most difficult to set up, the settings that I gave you should have worked as they're the settings that they provide for accessing email through outlook.
it might be that their servers don't support email on a mobile phone or that the settings are different to those for PCs |
